Tesla Model S Launch
The Tesla Model S was launched in the UK at the Crystal. The building was transformed for the event, which was attended by over 500 guests and members of the press.
The Tesla Model S is a premium electric car, originally launched inthe USA in 2012. Two years later, chief executive Elon Musk and his team came to the Crystal to unveil the first right hand drive models to the UK. The building was transformed inside and out by the Crystal team who used specialist AV and branding to create the memorable event enjoyed by 500 guests. A sparkling afternoon tea was served in The Street next to a model of the vehicle on display. The meeting spaces on the first floor were used as press areas and hospitality space for VIP guests, with entertainment, private dining spaces and decorative floral arrangements supplied by the Crystal. After a speech from the Tesla CEO, a ceremony was held for the first five UK purchasers, who were presented with their keys and cars on the day.
The event also marked the unveiling of the UK's first Superchargers, which are located at the Crystal and are free for use by Tesla owners. The superchargers delivered charges equivalent to 200,000 oil-powered miles in the first four months.
“A huge thanks for your amazing crew at the Crystal, who were flexible and easy to work with. I hope we can launch the next vehicle with you as well!”
